The Lighthouse of Broward is the only full-service 501(c)3 serving people with visual impairments in Broward County, Florida.  We reach over 2,500 people who are blind or visually impaired in our community annually.  We are recognized by Charity Navigator and GuideStar as having the highest ratings, showing our dedication to our mission. We take a collaborative approach, combining our knowledge and resources to help our clients toward their goals of independence, employment, and/or educational success. Development Associate

As an integral part of the fundraising team, the Development Associate will cultivate, steward, and expand the relationships between the organization and its donors at all levels by providing extraordinary service to donors and exceeding expectations in the areas of maintaining and managing donor information, donor relations, and special events. This position will be critical in special events, managing administrative and logistical aspects.

Administrative Assistant

Assists VP of Programs and Development Rehabilitation Staff with clerical duties. Oversight of Front desk and Lobby area if coverage is needed. Answering telephones and greeting visitors at front desk. Arranges volunteer/staff coverage for reception when absence is planned. Provides coverage for reception desk during lunch period (30 minutes) and planned vacations.

Capital Campaign Coordinator

The Capital Campaign Coordinator executes administrative support of capital campaign initiatives, internal events, major giving, and third-party events for the Lighthouse of Broward for the Blind & Visually Impaired (LHOB). The Coordinator applies exceptional organizational and database management skills to ensure details are captured accurately for all activities. Interacting with donors and volunteers respectfully and professionally in person, by phone, and in writing are regular expectations. The coordinator works closely with all LHOB staff to execute the operational and strategic plans of the Capital Campaign Committee and is a team player with a donor centric approach.

Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Provides sequential instruction to individuals with visual impairment in the use of their remaining senses to determine their position within the environment and in techniques for safe movement from one place to another.  Clients may or may not have additional handicapping conditions.  Clients may be of any age.

Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Coordinates activities for Youth Programs Birth to 22, to ensure that participants are provided quality, individualized services to attain goals and objectives consistent with the mission of the Lighthouse of Broward by performing the following duties personally or through team members.
